Based in Plymouth, our in-house, accredited engineers deliver projects across the South West, South Wales, the South Coast, the Midlands and the wider South of England. From EICRs and routine compliance testing to AOV installations and fire safety systems, every job is carried out by BLEC engineers, not sub-contractors.

Do you operate nationwide?

Yes — BLEC delivers compliance services across mainland UK. We’re headquartered in Plymouth but service estates and blocks from Inverness to Cornwall through our network of in-house engineers, never sub-contractors.

What does an AOV survey involve?

A BLEC AOV survey audits all smoke ventilation systems against BS 7346-8 — including vent operation, control panels, smoke detection, and backup power. You receive a written report with photographs, remedial actions, and a fixed-price quotation within five working days.

How quickly can you respond to a fault?

Contracted clients receive a 4-hour response window for critical life-safety system faults (fire, AOV, emergency lighting), with 24/7 cover available as standard on annual maintenance agreements.

Are your engineers accredited?

Every BLEC engineer holds the relevant trade accreditations for their discipline. The business is BAFE SP203 registered for fire safety, NICEIC approved for electrical works, and SafeContractor / CHAS / ISO 9001 certified.
