Still have questions?
Our team responds to enquiries within one working hour during business hours.

Our 24/7 emergency response line is always answered. For genuine emergencies — a system that’s down or unable to respond to a fire — we aim to have an engineer on site as quickly as possible, prioritised ahead of routine work. Response times depend on distance from Plymouth and current call volume, but we’ll always be clear on ETA the moment you call.

Common culprits include dirty or ageing detectors (dust build-up triggers false alarms), battery faults (standby batteries typically need replacing every 4 years), wiring breaks or earth faults, and environmental issues (steam, cooking fumes, condensation reaching the wrong detector). Persistent faulting almost always has a specific cause — diagnosis is what we do.

We carry common replacement parts — detectors, batteries, sounders, manual call points — for most of the major UK panel manufacturers. Many fault visits are resolved on the first attendance. For panel-specific or less common parts (older systems, niche manufacturers), we may need a return visit but we’ll source the right OEM part, not a generic equivalent.

Where possible, yes — most repairs can be done with the rest of the system live, isolating only the zone or device being worked on. If a wider isolation is needed, we’ll warn you in advance, agree on temporary measures (e.g. fire wardens), and notify any monitoring receiving centre. The system goes back to full operation the moment the work is finished and retested.

Absolutely fine — most of our fault call-outs are on systems we didn’t originally install. We work with all the major UK panel and device manufacturers. After the initial diagnosis we’ll explain what’s needed, quote against the work, and recommend whether you should also consider moving the system onto a regular service contract to catch issues earlier.

Signs that a system is past its useful life include: obsolete panels where parts are no longer available, repeated faults across multiple zones suggesting widespread wiring or device degradation, and panels installed over 20+ years ago to outdated standards. We’re honest about this — if your system is on borrowed time, we’ll tell you, quote against a replacement, and help you plan a phased upgrade if needed.
